You Are

151.  The state we call realization is simply being oneself, not knowing
anything or becoming anything.   If one has realized, he is that which alone
is and which alone has always been.

147.  There is nothing to attain and no time within which to attain.
You are always that.  You have only to give up thinking you are limited,
to give up thinking you are this upadhi (limitation) or body.

145.  We know nothing about the past or the yugas (periods of time
containing thousands of years)which were in the past.  Nor do we know about
the future. But we know the present exists.  Let us know about it first.
Then all other doubts will cease.

137. We limit ourselves first, then seek to become the unlimited
that we always are.  All effort is only for giving up the notion that we are limited.

134. Liberation is another name for you.  It is always here and now with you.
It has not to be won or reached hereafter or somewhere.  Christ has said, "The
Kingdom of God is within you" here and now.

118.   All that we see is a dream, whether we see it in the dream state or
in the waking state.  On account of some arbitrary standards about the duration of
experience and so on, we call one experience dream experience and another waking
experience.

114. There is nothing to be reached.  You are always as you really are.
But you don't realize it. That is all.

Wake up to the picture show

When you wake up to the fact that this cinema show of our universe is only as solid as a picture show, from that point on, you know world action to be as real as the movies."

Live from your Self

"The only evil is ignorance, unawareness, failure to see our
authentic identity. To the degree that we learn to live from
our true identity, our pains and follies fall away, to be re-
placed with peace and wisdom."

Our universe is only as solid as a picture show

"The real you is your very own Self, the "I" of you as you really are. It is not confined to the body or mind that you now think you are.

Our real Self is like the screen in a cinema show. Your real Self is the changeless screen and the flitting pictures are the world.

The Self of us, the screen, never moves, but all the pictures on the screen do.

When you're looking at the characters on the screen and all the play that goes on, the fires, the floods and bombs don't touch the screen. The fires don't burn it, the floods don't wet it. the bombs don't destroy it.

That screen, like our very own Self, is changeless, and untouchable, perfect.

But superimposed on the Self, as there is superimposed on this screen, is all this action.  When you wake up to the fact that this cinema show of our universe is only as solid as a picture show, from that point on, you know world action to be as real as the movies."

As an actor, only the Self is real

220. It is possible to perform all the activities of life with detachment and regard only the Self as real. It is wrong to suppose that if one is fixed in the Self one's duties in life will not be properly performed. It is like an actor. He dresses and acts and even feels the part he is playing, but he knows really that he is not that character but some one else in real life.

Cleared of inner chaos

"Whoever has cleared one's self of inner chaos remains untouched by the chaos of a hysterical society."

Ask Truth

"Ask truth to teach you, not take care of you,
for its teaching will take care of you."

Keep away thoughts

"Once you go to sleep, you can do nothing in that state.  But while you are awake, try to keep away all thoughts."

Seeing the Self

It is only after seeing the Self within, that one will be able to see the Self in everything.  One must first realize there is nothing but the Self and that he is that Self, and only then he can see everything as the form of the Self.

Abandon False Concept of Enjoyment

"There are many ways to describe our inner task. One of them is
to call it a daring adventure in seeing what our habitual nature
refuses to see. For example, many people decline to examine self-
liberty, for fear it will rob them of what they believe are their
enjoyments. But they fail to see how their excitements alternate
with depressions, how their hopes are shoved aside by frustrations.
No one is asked to give up enjoyment; they are asked to abandon their
false concept of enjoyment, so that true refreshment may enter
every moment."
